We no longer have the luxury of time, if we even had that luxury before. The future is a myth, because you or I are not promised tomorrow. We are not even promised our next breath or heartbeat. A work acquaintance recently shared with me a story from Australia, and how one person writing "ETERNITY" had actually gotten people to thinking about eternity, and had come to the saving knowledge of God and His Love. If you are reading this, you did not come to this page by accident. You had to search, you had to look, and you came expecting something. You came looking for answers to questions that only God can deliver. Answers to prayers concerning you or a loved one. You came, looking for something. I do not sit in judgement of you, because I am looking for a closer walk, a greater relationship, and answers. Yes, even though I am typing this, I too look for answers. Answers to a question that I have asked many times to God, and that has not been answered YET. But one day it will be answered. Maybe today, maybe later, but it will be answered. But I started this off saying we don't have time, but here I am waiting for God to answer a question. Please don't be confused. Yes I am waiting on God and in His time my prayer will be answered. It could be answered, "Yes" or "No", but right now the answer has been "Wait, a little longer". I have the time to wait on God. What I don't have time for nor do you, is to sit in judgement, to ridicule, to bully. We don't have time to wait to accept Christ. We don't have time to tell someone about Jesus. This is time we don't have. So I encourage you, dear friend, make your decision with God now while there is time. For tomorrow may never come and then where will you be, for ETERNITY.
As I have had a tremendous opportunity to travel for the company I work for, and as I have the pleasure to also preach at various locations I have come to the realization that you never know what people are facing. On the outside, people can fool you and put on a show that everything is fine, however, on the inside they are troubled, sick, worried, or all of the above. A loved one of theirs may be facing what appears to be insurmountable odds. Their life may be in financial ruin, they may be fighting illnesses themselves. So I encourage all, be kind. Smile, be friendly, and enjoy meeting new people. Don't be afraid to listen and don't be afraid to share with each other. It is in sharing burdens that we become more like Christ. You may not have the answers and you probably will not but don't be afraid to pray to God who has all the answers because He is the all the answers. Enjoy family and friends. Look for ways to meet others, use social media and the internet for the good. Talk to people with kindness, because if you have not needed kindness, you will.
Enjoy life. It is not about what we have but what we can give to one another. And if you have Christ in your life please freely share because you never know what the impact is that you can have.
God bless each of you and never forget to look up and pray.
We are at the end of the first quarter of 2017. If you are reading this, then God truly has blessed you. By giving you sight, by allowing you the opportunity to read and comprehend, you are very blessed. However, I ask you this day just as I ask myself this very hard question "What have I done for God this year?"
But really what does Christmas mean to you. And this is mainly a rhetorical question, but feel free to share if you wish, but definitely share with a loved one. Christmas to a child, with the lights flickering in their eyes and their imagination, it means Santa Claus and eight tiny reindeer, and in times of heavy fog, nine reindeer. It is the wonderment of packages of presents asked for and things not expecting. To parents and especially grandparents it is a chance to spoil their little darlings even more, you could say we have a license at this season to spoil them. To others, it is just another day.
To all the doctors, nurses, police officers, fire personnel, and soldiers that stand watch at the wall, Thank you. Thank you for your service, sacrifice, and willingness to keep the hounds of evil at bay, just to allow the rest of us our time with family and friends.
This is my first Christmas without any parent here. My dad, my first hero, my mentor, and my friend passed away in August of 2015. But I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt that my mom and he are celebrating Jesus's birthday with Jesus Himself. And for this I am eternal grateful. Neither of my parents are suffering or hurting any longer. And one of these days I will get to join them around the Throne. But until then, I have a job here to do. And that job is to spread the Good News both far and wide, here and abroad.
To me, Christmas is Hope, Love, and Promise. I hope this Christmas each of us finds Peace, Love, Hope. And to those that don't know that Christmas should be all about Jesus, my prayer to you is that you allow Jesus to find you this season so you can have the Peace, Love, Joy, and Hope that only He can bring. And as the author of "A Visit from St. Nicholas", "Happy Christmas to All and to All a Good Night",
Matthew 11:28 "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (King James Version)
Do you have a problem? Everyone has problems. But what are you doing about the problems? Are you laying awake at night tossing and turning, losing sleep, destroying your health with worry, fear, and doubts. Are you popping pills, shooting up, smoking, snorting, or drinking to forget your pain, turmoil, or troubles, only to have them reappear when you come down, crash, or sober up. Maybe you are burying yourself in work or activities trying to silence those voices you hear telling you that you are worthless, useless, or no good. Maybe you are with someone different each night, looking for love, companionship, or someone who understands you.
If this is you, you are not alone. There are a lot of people in the world just like you, just like I was, looking for answers when you really don't even understand the questions. But let me tell you, there is someone who understands, someone that will love you, someone that doesn't believe that you are worthless, useless and no good. He believes you are worth dying for. As a matter of fact, He did just that. He died on a cross, on a hill, between two thieves. He died so you and I could live.
Jesus is His name, a name above all others. A name that you can call on in your darkest hour and He is instantly there. A name like no other name, demons flee, Satan grows quiet, and all the universe pays attention when He speaks. Even if you don't know what to say or pray for, call out His name and He will be there. Guaranteed or His name is not Savior, Redeemer, Forgiver, JESUS.
